Other Recommended Books

SUPERNORMAL: The Untold Story of Adversity and Resilience - Meg Jay, PhD (author of The Defining Decade) - Last fall while listening to NPR News Meg Jay was discussing her latest book, and WOW! Interesting developments and research combined with real-life stories of those "SUPERNORMAL" folks that we're surrounded by at work, the grocery store, the gym, etc. Incredible perspective and an excellent way to view adversity and resilience.

The New Localism: How Cities Can Thrive In the Age of Populism - Bruce Katz & Jeremy Nowak - For those folks working with or in "Smart Cities," I believe this read is for you. Very compelling and interesting perspective on how to develop cities in today's exponential growth.

Treating People Well: The Extraordinary Power of Civility at Work and in Life - Lea Bernman & Jeremy Bernard - Lea was the Whitehouse Social Secretary for President Bush. Jeremy was the Whitehouse Social Secretary for President Obama. The two got together to write a well-thought-out book about reciprocity.

Do the KIND Thing: Think Boundlessly, Work Purposefully, Live Passionately - Daniel Lubetzky, Founder and CEO of KIND Healthy Snacks. - A sweet young lady working for KIND whom I met at an event in Dallas gave me this book.

That's Not What I Meant - Deborah Tannen. - This book never gets old to me. I try and read it once a year to refresh and renew my outlook and I always seem to learn something new!

The 5 Love Languages - Gary Chapman. - In order for your brain to think in different ways, you need to feed it different things. If you completely consume yourself with one aspect of your life, you are neglecting the other parts that make you whole.

The 4-Hour Workweek - Timothy Ferriss. - I've been a skeptic of this book for years, but my colleague and I decided we should read it and see what all the fuss is about. It's one of those reads for people who need GREAT motivation and enjoy living in the clouds.
